In case you missed it...
I just read a nice article on the next-gen Model 94. The best part about the article was that they have seen fit to find a better solution than the goofy-looking crossbolt safety. This new model has a small, unobtrusive tang-mounted safety that appears (to me) to be a much easier-to-operate solution than the current crossbolt unit.

I saw one of those the other day. The only problem is that you cant put a tang sight on it now. Oh well I guess I can't have it both ways. I'm just glad I got an old one so I don't have to wory about it. I agree though, It is better looking without the cross bolt safty.

If it's on the tang now , I wonder if the sight manufacturers will now make a sight that will cover the holes made for the idiot switch . I won't even consider the purchase of a cross bolt safety model . Fortunately I have found the lever rifles I like and really don't have much desire for what is offered now .
I just found a Marlin 39 and I can't imagine how hard is is for some to make it unsafe without them being stupid in the first place .

I guess everyone can be happy now that we have choices for Genius, Idiot, and Lefties...not to mention those who don't care.
