Looking at possibly acquiring a Colt Sporter, circa 1980 mfr. Does anyone know if this would have chromed barrel and chamber? Or was that offered later?

I'm not registered at AR15.com, and I'm not sure I want to be. . . so I'm asking this here. And, yeah, I could "just look" at the barrel/chamber, but I haven't been able to see the rifle, not sure when I can---besides, can you tell if a barrel's been chrome lined by looking at it with a scope light?

I believe that in the pre ban colt's the chamber is chrome but the barrel is not. This is a link to AR15.com that compares all the companies.
