I'm in need of a new belt, and since I'm starting to CCW, I guess I ought to do it right and get a good belt.
I was looking at these (http://www.concealedcarry.com/belts.php) but I'd like to hear other suggestions too.
Also, what's the proper way to size a belt? I've read it's waist size + some number of inches but I can't remember the number...

Are you carrying inside the waistband or outside the waistband?

You might want to add two inches to your normal belt size. And to your waistband size for whatever pants you are wearing.
A stiff belt, especially with a rigid plastic insert, can make even a large, heavy steel framed pistol comfortable.
Hope this helps.

Lord Bodak,
Those first ones at the top of that page look very similar to the Gunner's Alley gun belts except the GA belts are about 20 bucks cheaper.

If you wear a belt normally, measure it from the hole you normally use to the inside edge of the buckle.
Add two inches to that measurement to compensate for your pistol and holster.
Let me be the first to recommend the Wilderness line of belts. I have a 5-stitch 1.5" in Olive Drab and it's pretty much been the only belt I've worn for the past three months. Comfortable to wear on it's own but sturdy enough to support a full loadout all day -- I tend to fill my pockets. I plan on getting a second belt for my BLET classes (1.5" CSM in black).
The original belt comes in two widths and three stiffnesses. There are also two thinner versions that use rings.
You can see them at www.thewilderness.com.

Good deals on Gunner's Alley there... both their belt and the Hume. Now, which one to go with :)

$79 seems high dollar for a belt. I can get heavy Wrangler belts at KMart for $15.

Between those two I'd go with the GA.
Whichever you go with you can rest easy in the fact that just about no one tops Gunner's Alley in the quality of customer service.

Went ahead and ordered the GA. I needed a new belt anyhow, so why not do it right?
