The plan is to just use it as a .44 special platform and save the heavies for my Rugers. I'll be brewin' up a half dozen different 240gr loads tonight. I can hardly wait to see what it likes.:what:

Oh my ..... yummee! Nice aquisition.
Outa interest .. I used a load many years ago, for long range target .. 8.5 grns Red Dot pushin a 250 grgn Keith cast swc ..... I never actually chrono'd that but it always felt very comfortable and I would say equated to something around a top end .44 spl load. Gave me great groups.

Well, so far I'm going to be sticking to 2400 powder and magnum primers. I've got five lots of a dozen made up with the weights varying from 11.3 up to 11.7. We'll see how they perform in the A.M.

Oh, be still my heart. A blued N frame .44. Beautiful.
I don't know why, but a blued revolver just has character. A stainless one is just dull and bland.
Great gun, enjoy it.:D

Congrats on your new acquisition:
I saw this exact same model at S&W days at Target Master on US202 in Pa near Wilmington, last Sunday, I wanted one but the only one I saw was in the case to be fired as a sample.
I could have fired it, but they wanted $5.00 for 10 shots, I did not have time to wait for a spot on the range, since I told the wife I was going to the hardware store, and I needed to get home to repair her closet rack in our walk in (overloaded & it fell) so I passed.
Where did you get yours and how much money did it cost?
Thanks
Here is one on Auction arms for $560:
