Fairly new to reloading(<2yrs) and have had great success using MEC 600 Jr to reload AA hulls with WAA12 wads. In winter I would prefer to use the Fed Top Gun hull with 12S3 hulls as hulls get filled with snow and our club rakes up skeet field after a day of shooting. The problem I am having is that while the crimp is tight, the shell is mushroomed or flared out at the top.Shell is really snug going into chamber, but ejects smoothly. Sometimes the second shell (on doubles ,with autoloader) "hangs up" a little and I have to finish closing the bolt manually. Bitching on the Skeet scores!

Thanks for any advice you can offer :)

Aren't TopGun's paper hulled? If so, you're probably getting swelling. Even if they're not, most Federal hulls are paper basewad hulls. Those will also swell and vary depending on the weather. That's the only thing I can think of. My press tapers the top of plastic hulls during final crimping. Occassionally hulls will burst their crimps, but I've never had feed trouble.
