...and my new horse is a good one!

Yep, my new Colt 1991A1 in .38 Super came in today.

I stopped by the local shop on the way to work and picked it up.

It is really nice, with a crisp roll markings, a deep blued finish and nicely figured grips.

The slide to frame fit is very good, with only a small amount of discernible play between them, while the barrel fit to both slide and bushing are excellent, with no noticeable movement at all.

The trigger pull was quite light, with only a small amount of creep. I expect a few minutes with a stone on the sear should quickly take care of that!

I should have time to clean, lube and shoot it this weekend so will post a follow up then.

Overall, I am quite pleased... and delighted to see Colt turning out pistols that come with pride in ownership again! :D

We will not be calling you 9x19 for long it will be 9x23.
I have a 38 super, it isn't a Colt but you can load some prety hot loads for it quite impressive.
A man at the range said" the 38 super is just another 9 MM" let him shoot it and his reply was "WOW" where do I get one?"

Well it is just another 9mm...the original 9mm +P+ that is! Seems to me that the 9x19 has to be loaded to pretty high pressure levels just to equal the Super. Darn! Now I want a Super!
