Looking to order through CMP...

I was looking to buy a couple of rack grade Garands using my CHL license
for marksmanship qualification.
However it also says I need to belong to a club with CMP affiliation.
Does NRA or Texas state rifle association count?
Do I have to go join a local gun club as listed on their website?
Thanks for any advice.

The list on the CMP website is pretty extensive. NRA membership does not fullfill that requirement but TSRA is on the list!! Just make a copy of your current membership card and attach that to the paperwork package.
Don't forget a copy of your birth certificate and have the copies of the CMP documents notarized.

If you don't belong to a CMP affiliated organization already, then your best bet is to join the Garand Collectors Association. $25 annual membership. They also send you a quarterly journal.

Believe I've read the Texas State Rifle Association is OK. You don't need a birth certificate. If you have a CHL, you're over 21. I ordered for the first time recently and just used my Texas CHL & joined the Garand Collectors Association.
