I have a Taurus 15rd factory mag that looks like it fits in my Beretta but it doesn't lock into the grip frame. It will hold the slide back and feed ammo as long as I keep it pressed into the gun. It looks like all I need to do is make the slots for the mag catch a little longer like on my Beretta mags. Does this sound about right? Has anyone modified Taurus mags to work in a Beretta?

I did a search but didn't find what I was looking for. If you know a thread that coveder this already, feel free to point me to it. Thanks.

Yeah but now I have a mag that I don't have a gun for so I thought I would give it a try. If it works great, if not, oh well.

Back in the day, I had a couple of mags that were cut to fit both Berettas and Taurus'. I never got to try them in a Beretta, but they did fine in my Taurus. The cutout for the mag release resembled an inverted 'T', with the center part where the Beretta release would catch it. In other words, the Beretta mag release should hit the mag right above the cutout in the Taurus mag.

yes, you can make it work. The only caution is make sure you enlarge the slot so that it still holds the magazine high enough. I agree there are a lot of beretta mags out there, but worst case is you can only gain fifteen dollars that is wasted otherwise.

I used a dremel tool,,, remember, measure twice, and cut once.

I have to laugh! I have a Taurs PT-92AF and I can't find a hi-cap to save my life out here. But the Beretta mags are plentifull! I love the pistol but it's really annoying that the Taurus/Beretta mag cutouts are different.

I prefer using a small file than a Dremel tool for that work.

Good luck!

rockstar? Gamble fifteen bucks on it at the next gun show. I have faith you can make it work. External dimensions are the same. The worst you can do is have to weld the beretta slot shut. and cut a totally new slot.
