Has anyone used the luxeon dropin bulbs to replace incandescents in maglites or minimags?
If so, how have they worked for you?

well, I dropped in a whole unit LED conversion to a 3-D maglite and a Surefire 6P and they work very very well- I liek them alot and am waiting for the 4,5, and 6 cell versions for maglights to come out.
As for the individual little LED bulbs, I don't know. If they do work, then my search for the larger lights is over.
But I can say that the light is whiter, brighter, and more uniform (no shadows in the image) than the standard maglight incandescent bulb. Now the surefire was very bright to begin with- more so than the LED unit, but I wanted one that will be nice and bright when I grab it and the much extended bulb life of the LED made me switch. It is still quite bright enough to light the farthest reaches in my home easily which is what i wanted.
Hope it helps,

Yes, they do work. I converted all of my Maglites to LED with them and gave some to my friends. They're pleased as well.

Slingster,
did you convert 5 or 6 D-cell maglights? and did you use the Luxeon PR3 flange base, or the EverLED, or the 'latest ever EverLED'?
