John Carpenter's "Vampires" Pistol?

So a friend of mine tells me I should watch John Carpenter's "Vampires" not because it's a decent movie or anything, but because the main character "Jack Crow" played by James Woods behaves towards Vampires, as I behave towards people with silly opinions aka antis.

Now... I was watching the movie, and it was sometimes entertaining, but I got tired fo waiting for him to kill each and every vampire so I'd fast-forward. But what really bothered me was i couldn't identify his handgun positively.

When I first saw the pictures in IMDB with the gun tucked in his pants I thought it was a 1911. As soon as I saw it drawn I realized this could not be the case and while it looked somewhat like a Desert Eagle (which would suit the gun of his partner, the loser Baldwin brother who had a gigantic Ruger revolver), it wasn't big enough to be a Desert Eagle... at least I didn't think so. So then I figured perhaps a CZ-97B. Which I convinced myself it was until the movie ended (otherwise I would have gone mad guessing) and I grabbed a few pictures from the website. From the left... it definitely doesn't look like Jack Crow's gun... from the right... it seems to fit the part pretty good.

Anyone else have any ideas?

IIRC it was a Baby Eagle. But I haven't seen the movie for years, so I'm not sure.

So I rented it... slow-motioned a few scenes. Definitely a Baby Eagle. The nose gave it away finally, but there were few good shots of it from the side. 9mm too, blanks are more reliable. Oh well...

Not sure of the caliber but it was a Taurus ... either a 911 (http://www.taurususa.com/products/product-details.cfm?model=911SS-NS&category=Pistol) or a 940 (http://www.taurususa.com/products/product-details.cfm?model=940SS&category=Pistol) or a 945 (http://www.taurususa.com/products/product-details.cfm?model=945SS4&category=Pistol).

:D

Seriously, I have seen it, and remember thinking "hmmm... don't see too many Baby Eagles in the movies".

So stainless (or nickel plated or whatever) BE gets my vote too.
