My Ultimak mount is on the way for my Mini. I already have a B square scope mount, and am intending to use both at the same time. Thus far I have used a BSA 30mm red dot (yeah, the $25 one at Wal-Mart) on the BSA and it has worked fine. It will be too tall to use on the scout mount, though, as it will be tall enough to interfere with the scope. I won't use it much, but this is my favorite SHTF gun, and it would be nice to have the red dot at night.

Can anyone recommend a cheap low profile red dot sight? My local gunshop has a generic one with 4 reticles and 7 position rheostat for $100. If all else fails, I'll prolly get that one, but I thought I'd ask for opinions, maybe someone knows a hot deal. Thanks in advance.

well my Ulitmak showed up today, and no one here knows what to put on it. I have to do everything myself. :scrutiny: Where is all the free advice I always see?

Hakko seems to make a solid product, people seem to be happy with the TACPPOINT line.

Sightron and Burris both make dots not cheap cheap but not Aimpoint either.

I have a very inexpensive BSA Red Dot and can use this on my now-Ultimakked M1 Carbine, but I guess I want somethig a bit better. AimPoints and UltrDots seem a bit too expensive. Anyone have experience with the Bushnell Trophy Red Dots. For $90-110, they look pretty good, but I don't really know much about them at all. Anyone? Anyone...

$120 doesn't seem too steep for an UltraDot...AND it includes shipping.

Even the MatchDot(2,4,6,8-moa dots) I bought was only $179...with free shipping...and that's the most expensive one.

I looked at the no-names and decided I wouldn't be happy with one of them.

John,

Yes, I looked at Larry's. You make a good point. I like the multi-reticle Bushnell Trophy model for around $109, so with shipping, say $115-120. If I went for the $179 top o' da line Ultra and trade in my BSA ($20), I get it for $159. The difference is about $40. Hmmm. Yup, you have a good point. Thanks. :D
