Does anyone have a general idea how long this is taking this time of year? Thanks, I'm ready to get started.

I renewed mine in October, it took less than three weeks to get the renewal back. I believe it's about 4-6 weeks for new CCW permits.
Happy shooting, and welcome to the High Road. :)

Thanks for the warm welcome! I don't know how I will wait that long. If it doesn't come soon, I'll probably ask my FFL dealer to do the extra background checks and let me take my gun home in my trunk!

This is what he told me, he's been great so far:
This would save the cost of being required to do both the Federal records-check AND an Indiana State Police records-check, not to mention avoiding the possibility of an administrative screwup at the Indiana level, plus having to transport the gun wrapped-up in the trunk of your car until the CCW arrives. In other words, you really WANT that CCW when you initiate the local transfer.

ok. I thought there was just one check, but then I've always had my permit for purchases.

My renewal in November took about 3 weeks. New permits are probably 4 - 6 weeks but that's just a guess on my part.

It could take up to 90 days, they had a backlog last I heard.
