I got this little gem in a box of stuff that was passed on to me several years ago. Only recently did I go though the box and discover the 1948 Beretta model 418 6.35mm (25 acp) pistol buried in the box in an old gun rug.

After cleaning it I took it to the range. I don't know how long it has been since it's been fired but I'd say over 20 years have passed since it's been loaded.
I bought the cheapest 25 acp ammo I could find because honestly, I didn't really expect the gun to function anyway and didn't want to waste money.
I set the target at 9 ft, which is the closest allowed at my range.
Bang Bang Bang, FTE, cleared, Bang, FTF, cleared, reload, Bang Bang Bang, Log jamb. A lot of malfunctions, never the same one twice in a row. I believe it can all be blamed on old springs though as they seem exceptionally weak.
Suprisingly, this little gun hits point of aim and I was pretty pleased with accuracy. Because of that point alone, I am going to replace all the springs and try again. If I can make it reliable it would be fun to shoot.

I think so too. :D I never had a 25acp, nor did I ever have the desire to own one. It did remind me of my Grandfather though and I remember him showing it to me on the sly when I was about 10 years old. Ahh memories...
Maybe I'll show it to my son when he turns 10 too.

Will Beretta still supply new springs?

I think this is the .25 Beretta that James Bond used in Fleming's books, by the way.
