Howdy team,
I've been looking at 1897's (again) and I was wondering if there is a preferred vintage for these guns. I've seen some made up into the 50's.
All opinions welcome.
Thanks,
Mike

I believe the early ones, the first ten years or so, had solid frames and the ones after had take down barrels. They were made untill 1957.
The takedown guns are more in demand, but there is little difference other than that.
