HEADLINE: CDC: Guns in School Shootings From Home

DATELINE: ATLANTA

BODY:
More than half of the guns used in the rash of school shootings during the 1990s came from home or from friends or relatives, the government reported Thursday.

Between 1992 and 1999, 123 students used 128 guns in school-related homicides and suicides, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said.

Nearly 38 percent of the guns were from home and more than 23 percent of the guns were from a friend or relative.

"It is not enough for parents to eliminate unsupervised access to firearms in their home," the CDC said. "Parents should consider discussing access to firearms and safe-storage practices with their relatives and the parents of their children's friends."

Seven percent of the guns used in school shootings were purchased by the student. Only 5.5 percent of the guns were stolen.

The CDC did not know the origin of nearly 23 percent of the guns used.

So .... this is like saying that more than half of the cars involved in fatal crashes were owned by the family of the victim.

TallPine nailed it.

Just like the statistic that most traffic accidents occur within 5 miles of home.

We are facing bio attacks here is the US featuring engineered bugs combining the best features of small pox and ebola.

So to meet that challenge the gov't organization designated to scientifically fight that potential is issuing reports stating the obvious.

Why did they not announce the number of school shooting which were stopped by legally owned firearms.

Seems the CDC's other function is to create a more effective condom.

Clinton's toadies still infest the CDC. Bush and Tommy Thompson are well advised to enter into Jihad and purge that institution of Clinton's influence.

Why isn't the C.D.C. investigating communicable diseases?

Well, actually they were ivestigating communicable diseases. But if you will note the word communicable it means that others can catch it.

They just happened to catch a major case of Stupid from associating with Antigunners and other liberal types. And your mother told you that stuff like that couldn't rub off, didn't she?

Does kind of leave me with a major warm, fuzzy feeling knowing these same people are supposed to deal with real diseases and terrorist incidents.
