Okay guys I am limiting myself to one, that's ONE more pistola' until I get completely out of debt, several months from now.

I intend fully to attend courses at Tac Pro and possibly TPA. I would like to finish the "masters" or "advanced" courses offered by both in pistols. Next year will be shotties.

So here is my situation.

1.) I have 2x Sig 229 in .40 which covers me for work (have to carry a Sig 229 .40) and should meet training needs HOWEVER, 1000 rounds of .40 in quality ammo starts gettig expensive in training and maintaining ability.

2.) I have 2x Sig 228 in 9mm....I don't think I've ever fallen in love with a gun so fast and so hard. 15+1 rounds in a mid compact. This will most likely be the kind of gun I train with.

3.) Just ordered a Sig 226 in 9mm. 17+1 is hard to argue with and I will use this as my commute gun to and from work since I hate packing spare mags. (pulls down my stylishly baggy pants). I have had no trouble packing a full size Glock 17, so I think I can pack one of these. I may also use this weapon as a training pistol due to the majority of my Officers carrying this weapon and I would be able to pass the training on to them.

so here is my question:

Should I double up and get another Sig 226 in 9mm or get a Sig 226 in .40, my officers carry .40 but I do not shoot either of my 229's that much. Maybe once every month or two put 100 rounds or so out of it. 9mm is much more fun and inexpensive. Therefore I may not shoot a 226 in .40 much at all.

OR

Sig 239 in .40 for the once in a blue moon, "can't take your pistol to a party or social gathering" so you sneak a little bitty one IWB on your way out the door. (I always pack, even when I can't I do....Even when I don't, I do. :D )

OR get a MAK for the once in a blue moon stuff and get another 226. Technically that would make two guns, but MAK's for $150 I think I can hide at least one. Just put off the steak house for a couple of weeks.

I would just get a Mak to join all the others.

Buy ammo. If you're set on getting a gun, the 239 is a good choice, too. Don't quite see the utility in another 226 - unless you want to shoot them "John Woo" style. :p

Get a P239. Then give me your Glocks. And any other non SIG pistols you have. I promise to keep good care of them. Honest. ;)

You'll never wear out your P226.

I highly recommend getting something that you don't have, something different. Like a P220ST, or a regular P220R, or a GSR. Not sure if you have P226 or P226R, and not sure if you need a rail, but something to consider.

Expand your horizons...looks like you got all your CCW and duty/carry needs met, and met well at that, so go for something different.

But definitely a Sig. :D

'course, you might also be interested in a CZ-P01 (also a 9mm...so ammo is easy on the wallet). The CZ is an inexpensive and amazing little pistol...not as smooth as a Sig, but even with a light trigger action job, it will still go toe-to-toe with a Sig for about 2/3 the cost.

To ramble...expand your horizons and have fun doing so!

Nah, he's getting rid of a minty PCR in the morning :D He doesn't need a P01.

Go ahead and get the new 226 in .40 S&W. Then get another trade-in 226 in 9mm next paycheck.

Just remember how nice my 229 in 357sig shot, though.
For social work, you can get the 239 or a triplet of Maks. I'd advise that at least one get the Stephen Camp treatment with Novaks mounted on it.

Or, you could get a 239 AND an assortment of Maks. You're made of money, right?

Rabbit.

Hmmm....

I had a 239 in 9mm and didn't care for it. Nice to carry, didn't like shooting it.
I am definantly getting a MAK or two.

Now as for a Sig 226....maybe one in .40.....I gotta flip a coin though, I rarely shoot .40 except at work.
