I was rummaging through some of my dad's old stuff and came across a Tanfoglio Giuseppe 9mm (.380). It has "MOD G.T. 380 CAL." stamped across the slide.
Looks like a pretty slick piece. Anybody with knowledge/info on it?

Here's a link of little help: http://hem.passagen.se/vectra/history.htm
To see other Tanfoglio products, you can usually see a few here: http://www.gunsamerica.com/fast.cgi?guncat=2203
Othere than that, all I could find on them is in Italian. I couldn't tell you if they were talking about Tanfoglio firearms or Tanfoglio spaghetti. Sounds like a job for the book broker at your local gun show.

Tanfoglio (pron. Tan-foal-yo) makes pretty high quality stuff, but I don't think they have an importer at the moment. That GT 380 gun was extensively imported pre-1968, and they are good quality.
You might look at their web site at
http://www.tanfoglio.it
and they have an English version for those who don't read Italian.

I had a Tanfoglio GT27 (25acp) that was made from the softest steel ive ever seen in a gun.Check it out often and if it shoots OK thats fine.Mine showed substantial wear after 100 rounds!:what:
