Got my CDNN Sig 226 today...a little disappointed...but hopeful

The gun arrived at my dealer and in the box looked good. Solid finish and everything, but the slide seemed pretty loose on the frame. It would actually make noice when I shook it side to side. A pretty loose fit, we're talking old school 1911 like here, not at all like most of the Sigs I have been exposed to. My dealer called CDNN and informed them of the problem and they agreed to pay the shipping back and exchange it. I really was looking forward to shooting it this weekend. :(

I payed the $20.00 X-tra for the Hand Pick and this one was supposed to be LNIB. We'll see what I get this next time.

Anyone else have a loose fitting Sig 226?

I had a 226 that got "loose" after I fired about 3K rounds through it. It still shot well and functioned ok, but it felt loose. I sold it. I recently got a new 228 and all is well again. I should have kept the 226

So the "looseness" doesn't affect the gun adversly.

Alduro - I wouldn't expect or want the degree of ''slop'' you seem to describe. I wonder whether folks sometimes skimp on lube with frames and slides ... probably IMO the most necessary area to maintain a functional lube film.

Analysis is obviously very subjective but - I'd have hoped your new piece would have had no more than just ''very free'' slide action. Lateral float/rattle does not sound too brilliant! Hope a replacement proves better.

You and me both brother.

I'll get a two-tone one if everything checks out good on the replacement they are sending me.

Looking forward to hearing about how this turns out as I was thinking about buying Sig 229 from CDNN.

I got a Sig 228 from them that I'm just thrilled with. Neal from CDNN informs me that this particular 226 was just an unusual case.

Most SIG P22x pistols rattle, and it doesn't affect accuracy or reliability. I'd forget about it...

I don't know. I looked at 2 of my Officers 226's in .40 today and though there is a very slight bit of play, not nearly as much as this 9mm had.

Any experienced 226 owners in the 9mm variety, I'm all ears.

I should have said that my 226 was no where as loose as the one you described. I lubed the frame and slide every time I shot it. It just was not as tight as when it was new. John

My old stamped slide P226 rattles like crazy, but is accurate and 100% reliable.

I appreciate it guys....if the next one I get rattles...I'll just keep it and call it a day.
