Hi all,

Handled a M15 that was missing the extractor pin. I'd like to buy it, but I'm leery of the cost to repair such an item. Any thoughts/experiances on having someone like Clark's or S&W repair it?

Asking price is pretty good, but if this is an expensive repair (+ shipping), that may be a deal breaker.

TIA,

Al

But how do you install it? I was unable to find the details in Kuhnhausen's book.

If you'll open the cylinder on your revolver (S&W) and depress the extractor, you'll see two small pins that serve to line up the extractor when it's seated. The pins protrude from the cylinder.

On the M15, one is missing. :)

Look at the extractor star in the center of the cylinder.
You'll notice two pins just outside the star 180ยบ apart. Those are the extractor index pins.
