was in a local Pawnshop today, adn on the gun rack there was a Garand that was equiped with a 4 or 5 prong flash supressor. this was something i had not seen before. i've seen the Sniper versions that in addition to a scope have a cup or "bell" shaped flash hider to keep the muzzle flash from blinding the shooter in low-light conditions. but i have never seen a prong style hider/supressor.

i didn't look overly close but the gun appeared otherwise standard GI, and the attachment of the FS looked very professional, and possibly armory done, park on gun and FS match. did NOT notice any overt signs of the weapon having once been a M-1C/D (no sign of the side mount for the scope) so i'm at a loss.

history, input, whatever you can tell me about this would be appreciated.

thanks, care to help a goob??

Did it look like this?

As you can see, it simply replaces the gas cylinder nut. It's called a T37 flash hider and you can buy one for about $35.

Sounds like mine. It was a substitute standard that did basically the same thing in a different way. It dispersed the flash instead of just hiding it. Neither eliminated the flash as only a suppressor can really do this.

thanks guys :)

i'm hoping that this is a standard gun that someone put a T37 on and NOT an M-1D that some putz took the scope mount off of and restocked.
