The masters of the 1911 are well known to me. But who do I send a SRH to for custom work?

- Fix that &*!@^$ Ruger trigger
- Cut barrel and recrown, install new front sight
- Recontour trigger guard
basically, my intent is to not leave well enough alone...

Those scoundrels at Wild West Guns seen to do a fairly decent job based on some fuzzy photographs I saw on a forum once upon a time.

WWG do a good job: also Clark Custom Guns, who've done several Rugers for me. Hamilton Bowen is superb (probably the finest revolversmith in the US market today, IMHO), but his prices and waiting periods are a bit hairy. Still, you get what you pay for...

Clark is getting pretty pricey too.
I'd like to know an answer to this question too. I have the same type of work that needs to be done.

Not meaning to hijack the thread, but was wondering who everyone thought were the top S&W revolver smiths?

David Clements does fine work also.
