Hi Gang,
Got room for another new member? I recognize some of the names here as members of the 1911 Forum. I would like to join in the discussions here. My primary interests are Handguns (especially 1911's and S&W M629's) and Reloading. I have been casting lead pistol bullets and reloading all my ammo (pistol, rifle, and shotgun) for 40 years. Enjoy sharing experiences with others. Very interested in learning more about the internals and gunsmithing kinks of 1911 pistols.

Good shooting and be safe. :)

Hi Lennyjoe,
Thanks for the welcome. Why don't you keep some of this rain over your way instead of sending it east to Houston? I haven't been able to get to the range in several days and am having severe withdrawal pains.
I don't shoot 230 grain ball but my standard 1911 load is 5.1 W231 behind 200 grain H&G #68 semiwadcutter cast bullet with Win LP primer in Win brass. Shoots well in my Kimber 5" Custom Eclipse II.

Good shooting and be safe. :)

Thanks All for the warm welcome. Makes a guy feel right at home. Hope you people aren't a bad influence on me like the members of 1911 Forum. They kept on posting about their Baer, Wilson, and Brown 1911's until I succumbed and ordered a Wilson Classic pistol. But no one provided any help on how to tolerate the long wait until delivery. Guess I will just have to listen to everyone else tell me how good their guns are until mine finally arrives.

Just got back from the local range. Still testing a new steel compensator on my Marvel Unit 1 and Kimber. After two range sessions, unit has delivered scores of 488 and 490 vs average score before adding comp of 475 (perfect score 500). Needless to say I am pleased with it. Looking forward to sharing info and learning lots of new things here.

Good shooting and be safe. :)

Hi Chris and Eagle45,
Guess I definitely am an old something or other. Will be reluctantly celebrating my 66th birthday in a couple of months. The only thing worse than having another birthday is NOT having another birthday. :) The eyesight is deteriorating and the body is old and worn but I can still punch a few holes thru the bullseye on a good day. And hope to continue doing so for many more years! Thanks for the welcome.

Good shooting and be safe. :)

The eyesight is deteriorating and the body is old and worn Ain't that the truth!!! Still - where there's a gun and ammo - there's still light at end of tunnel! :p
