Protecting the internals (rust) of your shotgun?

The general consensus is that Johnsons Paste Floor Wax or Boeshield are good choices for preventing rust on the shotgun externals in a salty/wet environment. What do you recommend for the internals to prevent rust?
Will Boeshield work on the internals? Or, would it be best to just heavily lubricate everything on the inside with RemOil?
Thanks,
Dave

I can't say as I have ever heard of Boeshield, but heavily lubricating anythings internal workings is asking for trouble with gunk build up. A few well placed drops of lube should be sufficient for most situations. I use CorrosionX on all my guns, it's a microlubricant and a penetrating oil. It's as good as anything I have used.

I also believe in keeping the action relatively dry, so I put a dab of CLP on my fingertip and run it along the inside chamber

Dave, is this as regards your duck hunting trip? If so, I'd probably just use a good brand of spray on lube and clean throughly when home. (not WD-40 or the like)
Otherwise, I've had no problems in simply spraying the internals once every couple of years... My problem is the outside - between the sweat and rain, my 870s tend to take a beating. Paste wax works for me there.

Corrosion X or Bullfrog works great...or send the gun off to Mac's Shootin Irons, and get it coated inside and out and its guaranteed for LIFE against rust or corrosion. I have it on a long gun, I have taken sea kayaking for years...NO RUST.

What I always do, is after a good cleaning I use a clean old tooth brush to apply a THIN coating of a good rust proofing lube like CLP Breakfree to all internal surfaces.
Applied in a very thin coat, the CLP prevents rust but doean't collect fouling like a heavier coating.
I do use CLP and a good grease as a lubricant on working surfaces.

Gold plate all internals first, then lube as preferred! :D
Well hey, it works for Westley Richards!
