Get the T3. The light is the same, but the switch is different. What Inova has done is not improve the LED, but how to focus the light. The call their lens super duper or whatever, but it is really nothing more that your basic 1800s period lighthouse technology. It works and works well.

The light is good out to 50+ yards as near as I have tested. You don't get the beam quality of a Surefire or of a Scorpion, but you also don't get a light that gets very hot (as the others do) and it has about double of the run time. I think it is a very good multipurpose light and since the bulb isn't going to burn out for 100000 hours, you don't have to buy expensive replacements as with Surefires.

I have had my Inova X5T for a little over a year.

I like it a lot. It is my primary EDC light. Sometimes I also carry the E2E and Z3 Surefires.
