Kid Rock

Kid Rock on war, edited for cleanliness.
"Why is everybody trying to stop the war? George Bush ain't been saying, 'You all, make [lousy] records.' Politicians and music don't mix. It's like whiskey and wine. We ought to stay out of it."
...
"We got to kill that [..umm...guy...] Saddam," he says. "Slit his throat. Kill him and the guy in North Korea."
Regarding Iraqi civilian casualties,
"Yeah. But [Bush] is doing the right thing. You got money; you sit around talking about peace. People who don't have money need some help."
I also heard an interview on the local country station. A few guys in a truck followed him through his gates. He lives out in the sticks and help is miles away. He says he isn't into having a flock of bodyguards, goes into his house, gets his 6-shooter, walks out and asks, 'May I help you?'
One of the guys say, 'Uh yeah Kid, we got some beer you can help us drink!'
Been getting airtime for his kinda-country duet with Sheryl Crow. :D

Kid Rock is living proof that a room temperature IQ and a lack of talent won't prevent you from being a star. I take my 4 year God-Daughter's political opinions more seriously than this little punks.

Good stuff. Regardless of your musical tastes, you've got to love his stance on self-defense.
Lets see Rock team up with the Nuge...:D

You know, I don't care for his music; 'Picture' is a cute and catchy song, but I usually change the station when it comes on.
It's just nice to see someone support Bush in a VERY hostile industry.
Not that his opinion matters to me at all, just thought it was worth pointing out.

If you think Kid Rock's IQ is a little on the low side, remember who his girlfriend is...imagine how bright she must be given her taste in men as well...

1. I happen to enjoy Kid Rock.
2. If Pamela Anderson threw herself at you, I suppose you'd kick her out of bed.
3. Whatever you think of his IQ, what do you think of his stance on the war? Namely, that musicians would be well served to keep their mouths shut on subjects they don't understand to avoid embarassment?

I'm no fan of Kid Rock, but I'd sure double tap Pamela, but I've seen her doing PETA promos, she's dumb as a rock. Rebels without a clue.

Kid Rock and Ted Nugent have teamed up before for at least one concert. During the concert, while Ted was performing and facing away from the audience, Kid Rock walked up behind him and lifted up the back of Ted's shirt showing Ted's Glock to the audience. The crowd loved it.

When Kid Rock enlists and shows up in uniform with the buzz-cut, his words will have a little more weight. Till then, he's just another cheer-leader on the side-lines. Rah, rah.........

Some of us have not served in the military, so I guess the millions of citizens of this country have little weight to their opinions as well? How many people do we have serving in our government that never served in the military? Somehow you trust their opinions more than someone elses?
Regardless of what you think of someone and how they make their money(at least it's honest work, not drug dealing. robbery and such), why would you malign someone who is on your side?
These negative comments make very little sense to me.

With all of the ragging on Kid Rock (the "room temperature I.Q. comments), at least he has the good sense to realize that he is an entertainer, not a political analyst. And that means that he has more sense that what seems to be 90% of the entertainment industry right now. I.Q. isn't everything, there are plenty of people I admire that have good sense but aren't the smartest people in the world.

Kid Rock has probably two songs worth listening to.
Having said that, I have to give him props for advocating nation-wide concealed carry at the Mtv Music Video awards a year or so ago.
Regardless of his level of musical talent, intelligence, etc. he still seems to be smart enough to know when to stay out of the Kool-Aid.
2. If Pamela Anderson threw herself at you, I suppose you'd kick her out of bed. In a heartbeat. Ick. Gena Davis on the other hand...brains and beauty.

He may not be the sharpest knife in the drawer, but at least he knows right from wrong & he illustrates that the liberal opinions voiced currently isn't the opinion of the entire entertainment industry.

Packaging is a wonderful thing. All presents look good, with their pretty paper and fancy ribbons. It isn't till you open them that you find out if you have a fully tricked out 1911 or a pile of petrified dog poo. People are the same way, what might be put in a stunning package isn't totally known until they speak and the inner workings are known.

To keep it drifting even further off topic... :D
Do you remember the Cheers when Norm and Cliff were talking about someone hot and Cliff said that he wouldn't kick her out of bed for eating crackers. Carla was passing by and told him that that would be the only way that he could get her there.

Kid Rock's views and attitudes should not come as a surprise to anyone. He just dosen't articulate it very well.
His father is Hank Williams Jr. and I'll just bet he knows how to use that six-shooter a lot better than most people think. His dad's property has a 900+yrd rifle range with a life-size steel bison sillouette target and he's probably spent just as much time on the range as he has in the studio.
Oh yeah.....I happen to like his music too.

I find it wierd that people are bashing Kid Rock, when he at least has the sense to not pretend to be an editor for The Economist. in his spare time.
As for Pam... well, before it was public knowledge she was a disease vector I might have been interested. But now? Yeah, I'm a single guy all right, but I'm not SUICIDAL.

March 10, 2003, 10:56 AM
Well, Pam is known to have hepatitis, and possibly other STDs
Not that I really care, but according to a Newsweek article this past summer, Pam's Hepatitis infection is the "C" variant, not known to be sexually transmitted. According to her, it was probably transmitted from Tommy Lee to her via a tattoo needle. He denies he is infected.
In the same article, they discussed the cases of several Hep C infected people. Most were like you and me. They weren't drug using, mulitple sex partner types. One guy, a retired soldier, thinks he got it from a nick during a haircut in the military.
Anyway, just thought I'd point that out. Pam A. still may be a vector for plenty of STDs.

I like his music about as much as my folks liked listening to Shinade O'Conner and U2. To even take it back a generation, Bob Dylan or Joan Biaz.
He must be a heck of a lot brighter than most of us think. Afterall, he has made more money in the last few years than most of us will in a lifetime.
Plus, he has been the only celebrity to say exactly what needs to be said, pro or anti war.

I like some of Kid's music, but moreso I like his do what the hell he wants to do attitude. That coupled with the sense to understand that everyone has a role in life and his probably won't get him on Crossfire. Before the flag-waving became cool (Hmmm, looks like that lasted 1 yr. 3 months...) Kid was always pretty pro U.S. Quiz yourself on what song the Cole played as it was towed out of Aden Harbor, flag still wavin...
After the Embassy bombings he came to Norfolk and did a Free show, does other USO stuff. It's his way of showing support. I bet he would enlist, but somebody probably told him that even the Navy has limits to its drug waiver. He instead is doing what he can with what he does.
After I check out Baba Streusel and Barbarella, I figure the Kid must have a 210 IQ. Least he's learned to control to some degree the stupid stuff that can fly out of ones's mouth.

Aw, heck, I had to get a Hepatitis vaccination to be a junior-high basketball coach. Apparently cleaning up a bloody nose is a very common method of transmission.

the only thing kid rock has going for his "career" is his patriotism. even though that in itself proves that any yahoo can make a name for themselves by draping himself/herself in the stars and stripes and coming up with catchy phrases like 'american badass'.
what was his gimmick before patriotism? a pint sized sidekick.
kid rock isnt a musician.
nor is he a singer.
hes a patriotic redneck that has more money than he knows what to do with and a girlfriend that every guy wanted to defile until they learned she has hepatitis.
find some real music that sports talent, like king crimson, or the melvins, audioslave, jerry cantrell, or TOOL.

Pamela vs. Tamara!!! Celebrity deathmatch! I'd buy tickets to see that, but $45 for a 3 second show isn't worth it!
:D
If it was a choice between Pam or my girlfriend...
Let's see:
My gf is more tactical
My gf is more practical
My gf is more logistical
My gf has the same size breasts but hers are natural
My gf has at least twice the IQ
My gf has no STD's
My gf isn't dating Kid Rock..
Yep, I'd kick pam off the bed too!

Sounds like y'all are having yourselves a huge glass of HATERADE!
Get over it. You may not like Kid Rock's music (I'm not particularly a fan) but what has he done to you lately? The man has done some shows for the USO and I'm sure he's a bit more sincere than his duet partner Sheryl Crow is. He supports the cause this website is all about. He IS patriotic. He sells records. I'm grateful I live in a country where any hick from outside Detroit can grow up to be rich and famous and bang hot broads from Playboy. That's what makes the USA great darn it!

Musical taste has noting to do with it. He seems like a decent guy, and that's refreshing as far as entertainers go. I'm not a huge "Planet of the Apes" fan, but I still like Charlton Heston.

I happen to disagree with Daniel Flory's comment on the audioslave cd. While it is a good cd, I don't think I can stand Chris Cornell's voice with Rage's sound anymore. How I long for the days when Soundgarden was still together and rockin' and Rage Against the Machine was still going.
Rage was, most definitely, a dirty commie outfit that I wholeheartedly disagreed with for every song. I couldn't get enough of their sound though.
Way off topic... sorry.

the only reason i still have my RATM cd's is because tom morello is a phenomenal guitarist, even though i disagree with his personal politics. they had a good bass player as well.
i would have preferred to have chris cornell release another solo cd than hook up with ratm -1, but no one pays attention to my opinions.
now lets see if i can turn this a few degrees back to the topic...
chris cornell = former soundgarden frontman = had one song "rusty cage" covered by johnny cash, who recently released another album with a song entitled "I Hung My Head".
its about a man who has a ND and kills someone, goes on the run, and is caught and has to face the music.
there, now were back on something gunrelated and set to music.

This has been a pretty long convoluted thread basically about why so many THRs are evnious of Kid Rock.
The main thing I got out of the original quote is that there are a lot of musicians out there that could take a less anti-US, anit-war, anti-gun stance than Kid Rock.
I could care less about his music but his words, at least on this, ain't the worst around the music biz...
And yes, I would kick Pam out of my bed. She's just about the opposite of my type.
