I've been looking at the 32 H&R magnums for my wife. We've tried just about everything we can for her to use as a CCW weapon. Doesn't like autos at all. Doeant like my .357 with 38 SPL. To much recoil. Doesn't like the trigger pull on others. Man I tell you its been a headach finding something she likes.

I got this Taurus Ultra-lite .32 H&R Magnum Weights 17 ounces unloaded. Has porting. Came with a nylon OWB holster. Also got a box of 20 Federal 85 grain Hi-Shock JHP. All for $260 out the door. Second best package price I could find was $440 out the door. All in all I think I got a good deal. Oh it was also brand new unfired. We'll go to the range this week and see how she likes this one.

I told her if she likes it, it's her Valentines day present. If she doesn't like it I'll keep it and she doesn't get any present.

I know this isn't the best weapon for CCW but at this point I'd be happy if she found anything she likes.

I wouldn't knock it as a CCW piece, if you look at the specs, most .32 Mag stuff actually makes pretty much the same energy as a .38, plus you get an extra round in the gun. The most important thing is that she likes it, if she does she's a lot likelier to carry it.

Georgia Arms offers one of the best defensive loads for the .32 H&R Magnum: a 100gr. JHP loaded to 1100 fps. Check out their Web site at www.georgia-arms.com for details.

Daniel:
why are you buying her gun?
If it's going to be her gun she should be the one buying it.
You don't buy her shoes and you shouldn't be buying her gun.
Take her out and let her beg, borrow and just steal some trigger time at the range with everything that's there.
Lot's of people let women take a few shots with thier guns.
If she doesn't like it, it's your's and no Valentines present? Can you spell C-o-u-c-h.

Just my 2cents.

I like that. "If you like it, it's your Valentine's Day gift honey, but if you don't, I'll keep it for myself." Spoken like a true romantic. :p

why are you buying her gun?

Because she wasn't able to go with me to pick this one up. It was a private sale and with it being such a good deal I didn't want to risk having it bought out from under me.

Take her out and let her beg, borrow and just steal some trigger time at the range with everything that's there.

We have been doing that. The only thing to rent at the range is .38 or larger or auto loaders. We also have spent a lot of time at the gun store looking at different guns and she liked the feel of the 32 H&R but the range doesn't have any to try out.

She doesn't like autos and the .38's etc have more recoil than she likes. With her small hands and short fingers it's hard to find anything she is comfortable with. She likes the feel of this one in her hand when I gave it to her yesterday evening. Trigger pull is still a little stiff but she said she likes it better than anything so far.

We go to the range with it on tuesday.

As for.
I told her if she likes it, it's her Valentines day present. If she doesn't like it I'll keep it and she doesn't get any present.

Perhaps I should have used one of the smilies
