what is it about women? the wife wants one of almost every model gun i got. the only thing is that they have to be stainless finish. what's the deal with that? does anybody else have this problem?

Some people like stainless. SOme like blued, polycoat, parkerized,etc.

Well, I've gotten to where I prefer stainless myself, and I ain't no woman. They're just easier to take care of, and the finish doesn't rub off. :)

As for most women, they just like shiny stuff, especially when it's a rock.

I like stainless also, but it is not for looks. They are just easier to keep from rusting. None of my hunting guns are stainless as I am still leery of the glare.

yes i like shiny guns. the basic blue just don't do anything for me. but dear hubby (craig) knows that. that is why he got me a stainless springer mil spec for valentines day!

Stainless are shiney, I like shiney, but from a tactical standpoint, I doubt I'll carry one...but then again.
I like the look of them both...I'm very torn on what finish to get in guns. =(

My wife wanted a Desert Eagle in the gold finish... she settled for blue. :rolleyes:

I love the looks of a bead-blasted 1911 with brushed flats, wood stocks and deep blueing.

However, I prefer stainless or hard chrome. I like the fact that I dont really have a finish I can screw up with a few minor scratches, which always seem to find their way onto everything.

The stainless shine is closer to the diamonds she also wants. ;) Mine actually likes blued better.

i like them both, for different reasons - blue for beauty - SS for practicality. some company used to advertise doing guns in black chrome. i would read the ad and my imagination would salivate. i did not have the first one done as i knew i would want them all done and have to sell my truck to pay for it. the first one i would have done would be my little Blackhawk. i will let you imagine that with some burl grips.
