Anyone have any idea what year this particular shotgun was first introduced to the market?

I am not sure on the year of production but the Mossberg Model 590 had been used by the military since the mid-1980's.
The weapon was found to be an excellent combat shotgun rugged and yet reliable in the feeding of different shells.
