I am considering the purchase of an AR 15 upper. I want one as near the origianal military upper as possible. (It will have to be a post-ban type as my lower is, but I assume that it can still be like the mil types except without the bayo lug. Right?)

What brand(s) might be worth considering and what price range am I looking at?

It can't have the Bayo lug, the threaded barrel, or a real flash hider. All the major manufactures have uppers that are similar to the M16 minus the above evil features. Price ranges 350 and up. You might want to take a trip over to http://www.ar15.com most of the maunfactures have boards over there in the industry section.
