I just saw one of these at the local gun shop. The asking price was $299. It appeared to be in fair condition, a little of the blueing was worn though. Is this a fair price for this revolver?

I would think you should be able to get an almost perfect Model 14 for $300.00.

It's highly dependent on condition and location. I doubt $300 will corner an ANIB K38 in the PDR-M.

Not in my neck of the woods, you won't...But it would be nice.

K-38's and K-22's seem to be getting rare around here. I would really like one of each, but at the prices I have been seeing, that will remain just a dream. Why did S&W mess them up by putting full underlug barrels on the new production models 14 and 17?

I paid $285 for this one last summer.

The K-38 is a great firearm; but they are getting real pricey,
due to scarcity! Around here, a LNIB Smith & Wesson model
14 recently sold on the open market for $375.00; but it was
real close to being a 100 per center. The little old lady that
sold it had it appraised before departing with it; and she
would not flinch till she got the right buyer.
Best Wishes,
