I'm looking around for a good holster for my Glock 19, does anyone have some suggestions?

Belt or IWB? I personally do not like IWB, i use a desantis model 86 forward cant, fits me nice! :)

I have several holsters for my Glock 19. For IWB; the Blade-Tech. Its an excellent fit and its fast. For the belt I like the Blade-Tech belt slide. Another excellent holster. I like the idea for plastic holsters for plastic pistols.

The best bargain holster for the Glock is the Glock belt slide holster. It works just fine and there is nothing on the market that holds a glock closer to your body.

Plastic gun = plastic holster.

I'm looking to carry it on the belt, as I'm not a fan of the IWB holsters and Maryland doesn't yet have a concealed weapons permit. :banghead:

I use Blade-Tech holsters and like them.
Get the Tec-Lok option it is more adaptable than a plain belt slide or the pancake version.

I hear very, very, good things about the new Blackhawk holsters too.

I have a SideArmor IWB I carry. Make sure you have a good belt also, it makes a huge difference.

Don Hume H721 open top (belt rig). Holds pistol very tight and close. Plastic pistol or no, I like leather!!

I carried mine in a Comp-Tac Undercover Pro for 2 years and had no problems with it whatsoever. Its a quality product.

Besides, plastic belongs in Kydex. ;)

Take a look at the Fobus line of holsters. Fairly good quality. Cheap price. :)

I prefer OWB carry.

Blade Tech is an excellent holster, especially with the forward cant blade.

Bianchi model 105 belt slide does well for concealment, as does the Don Hume slide.

The Fobus fixed holster is a good range and field holster. It will do well for concealment, under heavier outside garments. I don't care for the one with rotating mount. By trying to serve all purposes, it does none well.

Best,
Johnny

I hope you dont think I would put a 1911 in a kydex holster.

That would be degrading.

Now my Taurus 24/7, which has a polymer frame, will possibly ride in Kydex if I can find one.

I meant to say in my reply yesterday that the desantis holster is leather, and belt slide. works well, just cant stand plastic! I bought a kydex holster for my ppk put pistol in could not get it out! tried to modify it , and it ended up in garbage, girl at the range had the same thing happen to her Sig. got it in but couldnt get it out. Ended up going to the girls room to take her pants down and take the holster and pistol off. From what i saw when she came out that holster went into the garbage too! Me i just like leather, maybe its a fetish???? :) :)

one45auto;

Just for clarification, Maryland does indeed issue concealed carry permits. Maryland is not a 'shall issue' state, so permits are extremely diffficult to come by. Some states do not issue ANY permits, so there is a difference, though in practical terms, not much of one.

I use a Bianchi paddle holster. It has a thumb-brake and an adjustable cant so you can angle your firearm forward, back, or stragiht up, what ever you like. You can even adjust the draw hight. I prefer the paddle because it doesn't require a belt, and makes it easier to "adjust" and remove should you choose.
The only drawback is cost. About $55.00. Not bad, but lots more than say a Fobus. Here's a couple of pics.

I am a big fan of Highnoon Holsters' Topless model. They have great customer service and make a great product at a very reasonable price.

I have to admit Moby, leather certainly has a certain appeal.

Galco's "armortek" holster with either the belt slot or the paddle is an inexpensive and rugged holster.

When figuring out what holster to get consider where on your hip it is going to sit. The longer the slide/barrel and the further back the pistol will sit, the more forward "cant" or tilt you will want. This makes it easier to pull the pistol out of the holster.

Leather holsters make the baby Jesus cry. 1911's do too ;)

For OWB I really love my Tac Pro. http://www.tac-pro.com/slimline%20kydex%20holster.html

I recommend for IWB the Galco Summer Comfort. For belt carry, no retention strap either the Galco Small Of the Back or the Galco High Ride Concealable.
