Does anybody know a source of good 7.62x25 mm self-defense ammo? A friend of mine wants to use a CZ-52 for self defense. Preferably it would be loaded pretty hot.
Any URL's or contact information would be appreciated.
Thank-you in advance.

Try Quality Cartridge. They also have the .223 Timbs sabot round.

Magsafe makes a self defense round in 7.62x25, don't know if its what he's looking for as Magsafe is expensive for the few rounds you get. check out:

I want to fire 2 or 300 rounds of any ammo with NO malfunctions before I use it in a SD pistol. At almost $3 per shot for Magsafe or Glaser that could get kinda expensive.
Trouble with that kind of ammo is by the time you shoot enough to see if they're reliable in your gun you have more invested in Magsafes or Glasers than you paid for the gun.

"Try Quality Cartridge"
Two boxes I bought from them wouldn't chamber in an otherwise totally reliable CZ52. Customer service was non-existent.
YMMV

Dangerous Dave, the Old Western Scrounger used to sell hollowpoint BULLETS in this caliber. Unfortunately, if you don't reload that's not much use. You might check and see if he's got a loaded round using them...

Don't use hollowpoints for SD in this gun.
The beauty of the 7.65X25 is the penetration that you get. The gun was never designed to feed hollowpoints anyways.
And please you guys, no comments about overpenetration. If you're worried about that, 7.62X25 is the LAST pistol caliber you should be looking at in the first place.

I have had five CZ52's all have been flawless the one I have now is the best looking one so I will keep it.
I load Hornady XTPJHP 90g for mine 1600 fps+ great hunting load small varmits such a coyote and such. To hunt hogs (as a back up) use FMJ's.
I carry another caliber as I think the speed is too much IMHO but hey it will stop a BG dead I bet.

I would have to agree on the overpenetration issue...not a good defensive gun....unless you happen upon 5-6 BG's all lined up in a row.....
Prosecuting attorney " So mr CZ52...how did you manage to stop the entire gang with one shot...and more so why?"
CZ52...." Its my right to protect me and mine....and Mr. attorney...youve never shot a Tok, .....have you!"
For a Camping/Varmint gun....JHP's would be perfect, though.
Shoot well
