I know most if not all schools have regs re: weapons in school. Yesterday, tho, a 12 y/o female cousin asked me to help make her some soapy water w/ tabasco sauce for a small spary bottle that she could carry to & from school. Instead, I got her a small canister of OC but told her to first find out on th legality of carrying something like that in school. I got really upset that a 12 year has found the need to carry something for her protection :fire:
After I gave it to her, I showed her how it works & how to use it. Plus tips & comments on the importance of getting away not necessarily hurting an attacker.
So, my question....does anyone know if carrying pepper spray to school (middle school/ jr.hi) legal in Souther CA? is it a district descision?

My guess is that the OC is probably banned in schools while the home brew isn't (as that would be too tough to define). That said however, during the inevitable civil suit the home brew would probably get her (or her parents) in more trouble. Their lawyer would point out that she was making chemical weapons with premeditation to go after his client (not bringing up the reason that she felt the need to do so in the first place).

Kind of a damned if you do or don't situation.

Plus, the bottle she was using for her home brew was an old hair spray bottle. I could see her needing it, spraying a mist of the stuff and having any breeze at all blowing the stuff right back i her face making her an easier target....argh. I need to talk to her before monday.
