BDR 1274 has been submitted by Assemblywoman Allen (http://www.leg.state.nv.us/73rd/legislators/Assembly/Allen.cfm), which will allow for reciprocity with certain other states regarding concealed weapon permits. This has not yet been submitted as a bill, so it's just on the watch list for now. More info at Nevada CCW Information Site (http://www.nvccw.org)

Good News!Nv needs to address reciprocity since the legislature has left its head buried in the sand on this issue. Most likely concerns from the gaming community have buried any meaningful debate allowing tourists and visitors from out of state to exercise the same CCW freedoms that locals do.I guess that they couldnt stand any negative publicity if a tourist pulled out the hardware on sombody trying to assault them while visiting a casino or a strip joint.I can see both sides of this issue, since I support Gaming Inc as long as my taxes stay low and I am not forced to participate.I think Nv should immedeatly extend CCW priveledges to all current and retired LEOs.No way the gaming lobby could object to that, now could they? ;)

Finally...
Hopefully they'll deal with this problem. The only reason I haven't visited Nevada yet is because I'm not going to spend $105 and go to Reno before going to visit Vegas.

I'd love to be able to visit family and be able to legally carry.

i think all current & retired leos should get reciprocity, too......as soon as its passed FOR EVERYONE! and not before. it seems to always be an "us" vs. "them" mentality, so lets dispense with the two-tiered constitutional "privilege" system; we have enough of that from our "leaders". :barf:

If Nevada wants my vacation dollars, it can honor my Colorado driver's license and concealed hand guns permit.

Agree to all the above. I would be nice to travel to LV to see my family and still be armed. It would be nice to see it pass this year...Mike

Well folks I`m glad to hear your opinions and I`m sure others are intrested as well.I`m just trying to state the Realpolitik of dealing with the Nv legislature. Its a nasty business at best.If there was a groundswell of support for this all across the nation the politicians would have to sit up and take notice.Just keep those cards and letters comin in folks....

The BDR became AB 362 (http://www.leg.state.nv.us/73rd/Reports/history.cfm?ID=1965), but it's still in its first committee, and doesn't look like it will pass out before the April 15th deadline.
Looks like no Nevada reciprocity for at least two more years.

WA still has strict requirements for reciprocity agreements with other states. Other state CCW permits must have at least the same level of background checks as WA does before an agreement is reached. I think at this time only 7 states have agreements with WA and 9 other states honor a WA permit.
So even if NV would honor a WA permit, WA would not honor a NV permit if the background checks done by NV do not meet the WA requirements.

Jim,
Thanks for the update. I'm going to Vegas in 2 months and was hoping things would have progressed. Mike
