Only exception would be the rare necessity of going into a Government building (note the government doesn't trust me) or an emergency room.

Took a friend to the ER after he cut his hand pretty bad. Left the gun in the truck and that was the first time in over a year.

Are you required to take off the gun to go into the emergency room? That's one of the many places I wouldn't go unarmed.

My mode of dress incorporates being concealed so it's rather a pain in the rear to remove my pistol. Especially when I'm using my shirt tuck model with a shirt tucked in.

I take off my gun when I come home. There aren't many places where it's not welcome—and I don't frequent them.

If I have to go where there are metal detectors, I leave it behind, of course, but that happens less than once a month.

None, I am LEO and don't need to remove it? Not quite . . . .

As a county investigator, I'm in and out of the jail fairly often, and must put my sidearm into a lock box each time. This is usually three or four times a day, and is the reason I seldom carry a spare pistol during business hours - - - I've forgotten the little one a couple of times.:o

Once I get home, there's at least one errand needs running, so that's another time.

As Art Eatman says, "It's bad luck to be superstitious." That being said, I feel it is just bad luck to go boating without flotation devices, drive without seat belts, or go outdoors without a sidearm. ;)

i take it off when i get to work and put it somewhere in my cubicle.
i take it off again when i return from lunch.
i take it off again when i get home and have a wicked BM.
and finally i take it off when i am getting ready to go to bed.

the only time i take it out of the holster is in the restroom. all other times it just slides out along with the iwb holster.

A while back I was asked to take a photograph of a group in a government building. Had forgotten to remove CCW piece and was about to enter the building when I saw the metal detector. Mumbled something about having forgot the film and ran back to vehicle to disarm. Deposited Kimber and Benchmade under the seat but forgot my itsy bitsy Swiss Army Knife. They even threw a fit about that! Let me keep it, though. I was with a fairly high level group and they just warned me not to bring it back.

Like Hypnogator points out, the key word is concealed. But I don't go into businesses that post signs prohibiting concealed weapons. I just take my dollars elsewhere.

My employer is very gun-friendly. Everybody on the counter carries. Like the others, I don't go where I can't carry.

When I get home. But three times today. Why, you ask? I just switched my 642 Airweight pocket carry from an Uncle Mike's pocket holster to a DeSantis "Nemesis." Twice it slid out of my pocket and deposited itself on the front seat of my car -- without my knowing it. The second time I was at work and had already sat down in my chair and on a co-worker's desk. Chills went down my spine wondering where it was. Front seat of my automobile, in plain view of the world. :( Guess it's back to Uncle Mike's...

I'd been using the Uncle Mikes for a couple of years, but a pal gave me a DeSantis Nemesis a few months ago. I use it interchangeably with a Colt Agent and a P32, but not for daily carry.

Maybe it is the type pants we wear. I usually wear Farah chinos. How do you carry your pocket holster--What brand/style of pants?

I think the problem is with the interior of the Nemesis -- it's not as sticky as the exterior, nor should it be, but the only other pocket holster I've ever had this problem with was a Galco horsehide for a Seecamp LWS 32. That got as smooth as glass on the inside. Great for standing up and drawing; lousy for sitting down. My problem with the Uncle Mike's and the 642 is that it sometimes comes out with the draw. :(

Once when I get home. If I know I will be going to illinois I dont bother bringing it since I dont like the idea of leaving my gun in the car.
