SF Bay Area Gun Trade Advice

A couple of my messages must have sent THR down as they are not here. I am dupping this one and hope it doesn't come back up.
Where are good vendors to deal with in trading a pistol in the SF Bay area? Best place to sell or put a pistol on consignment? Who gives best overall deal--trade value and good purchase prices.
I may decide to trade in a pistol to pick up an 870, .22 cal revolver or sell to put money towards a CMP Garand.

You can try posting on the Calguns.net board and there might be someone local to sell to through as PPT. Here's the link to their Sell Board.http://calguns.net/eve/ubb.x/a/frm/f/7736030741

In general, I like Reed's on Alum Rock in San Jose. I have never sold a gun throught them. (I have never sold a gun period). But I have bought plenty from them and always got a good price (for Bay Area) and good service. YMMV

Sportsmen's Supply in Campbell usually has a pretty good consignment selection; also, they will sometimes put their consignment guns in their newspaper ads.
Kerley's in Cupertino usually has a good consignment case also.

I was treated well in both shops when I lived in the People's Republic of California. I liked the selection at Target Masters in Milpitas, but the range was too unsafe for me to frequent very often.

for comparison, my friend sold a very good cond G27 to the gunshop in Fremont that was robbed (ARGh! not long after, either).
he got $300, not great, not the worst.
he was bummed when i showed him this site (but psyched now he knows about it)
