Mosin-Nagant small accessories?

Hi guys,

I couldn't logon to THR last night, so posted this on TFL. So far the only suggestion I got there was "Tennessee Gun Parts" which has a cleaning kit and ammo pouches, but not no stripper clips.
Reposting here, hoping for more suggestions.

I just ordered my first Mosin (91/59 from Allan's Armory)! Now I need some small accessories for it (it comes with cleaning rod only).
I know I will need at least a bolt tool (to measure firing pin protrusion) and some stripper clips.
Can you suggest anything else - maybe some kind of cleaning kit compatible with the issue rod?

Now, the big question is - do you know any online place where I could order all of that small stuff together? For example, I know that Tapco has the bolt tool for something like $5, but they don't have clips (where can I get them, BTW?) and their shipping on small orders is about $9...

Thank you.

Try They've got the cleaning kits, I want to say they're $10 or so. Also, try (Numrich). They've got a lot of Mosin stuff there too.

Good stripper clips for Mosins tend to be a bit pricey. Best place to find them are ebay, gunbroker, or auction arms, or at gunshows.

Wish I had a picture of what you should look for, but I'm still hunting myself.

Mee too, and actually Izzy stripper clip would be a wonderful thing! The aftermarket imitations are somewhat "iffy" from what I have been told....The real are copper, with the Izshevsk "triangle with arrow inside" mark on the back.

Sarco also has mosin parts and you can check out the trader boards at Parrallax Bill's Curio and Relic and Militarly Surplus@ ezboards or Gunboards Military Mosin Nagant Forums. :)

I bought cases of Russian 7.62x54R with steel chargers, and have so many I keep my hunting ammo on them (this was ten years ago) in the boxes. I probably literally have 50 or 60 of them, many with the Izhevsk stamp on them. The brass ones are Chinese, which are pretty good. Indeed, the Chinese ammo was superb. Try Aim Surplus for the cleaning kit/sling combos. The rifles are witness marked regarding Firing pin protrusion by the way. Just look at the cocking piece and make sure the pin lines up with the marks on either side of it. You can check it with the tool, of course, but when the marks line up, it should be good (and the pin is flush with the cocking piece, it is possible to turn it out one half turn and have the firing pine WAY too long). You also know that the guide bar on the bolt serves as the take-down tool to remove the firing pin, so you have that tool as part of the rifle. If you can get a Finnish cleaning kit, do so as they have bronze rod extensions that make cleaning with the military kit easier.
