What kind of gun was Denzel using in the movie Man on Fire? This is the movie where he is a body guard in Mexico.

Also, whatever gun it is, does it have the trigger disconnect when you pull the magazine out? Is the part in the end where he gives the gun to the guy and takes the magazine with him correct? The guy loads the bullet through the ejection port thing, since there is no mag.

I know some guns have it, some don't, but I don't know much about guns, i.e. what they look like etc, let alone the features of each.

Thanks in advance.

If I remember correcty, it was a Glock 17. There is no magazine disconnect and it is possible to load through the ejection port, though it's not recommended because it may eventually chip the extractor.

I saw the movie 4 times. The pistol Denzel uses is clearly a Glock 34. If you Pause it when he get in the shoot-out with the Mexico City Police you'll see. Good damned movie! I saw in Morelia, Mexico during a visit. In Spanish it was titled "Hombre Llamas" Denzel speaks ALOT more Spanish in that version epecially when he's snipping off the federale's fingers in the car. :)

The gun that Pita's father shoots himself with looked like a Glock 19. ;)

I thought it was a G34 also. It definitely was a long-slide 9mm Glock, and I don't think it was the G17L. I don't think it was ported.

I watched that movie and froze it at one point. Can't remember exactly when, might have been when he was playing with his gun in his room. But it had a big 19 on it.

i really thought it was compensated. . . . .at least we all agree on the 9mm :)

I think there is actually more than 1 glock being used in the movie. The one in his room may have been a 19. The one he used in the shootout when the girl came out of the piano lesson was definitely a 34. (At least it was when he holstered it before she went in). Maybe the one he left for the guy to shoot himself with was another model.

There were several Glocks of different sizes.

At least one he picked off the body of one of the bad guys.

His personal sidearm was a G34.

Denzel is using a Sig full size, I believe a P226, in the scene where he goes to the Rave.

Pause the DVD, it's easy to see.

He uses a G34 during the kidnapping shootout, a G17 is what he gives to Ramos to kill himself with, a Colt 45 when he finds "The Voice"'s brother and a P226 at the Club.

However - there was an error in the father's suicide scene. He kills himself with one round, no magazine. When his wife walks in the room, the gun can be seen on the floor, in his hand, with the slide locked back :uhoh: .

It's still a great movie - it's one of my wife's favorites.

possenti, I saw that too, obviously the slide lock is to add more 'drama' to the scene.. that said, maybe his thumb bumped the slide lock...

During the first part of the movie and the shoot out he uses a GL-34. Then he uses a little of every thing. At the rave he has a P-226.

A special Glock. How special? Real special. Cause he cocked the hammer back in one scene.

Wow, I remember posting this 3 years ago.

Funny too, I just bought my first Glock last night.

I really liked that movie.

I thought it was silly Denzel had to wake poor ol' Chris Walken up to explain why a round might not go off.

On second though, there should have been more Walken... run-dancing around in a Hawaiian shirt during a shootout wielding an oversized revolver. :D
