I recently was very lucky to find a mixmaster (Ithaca frame, Colt slide)
Went on a whirlwind search and found and purchased an all correct slide with correct barrel and went to Simpson's and purchased correct grips and put everything togeather...(see below)

Now I need to get to the range and see how it shoots...I am one happy camper to get this put togeather.

Very cool. Glad you're happy. I'd be as well.

Looks like the only give away that this is a parts gun is the slight mismatch in color and wear between the slide and receiver. I had a real mixmaster 1911-A1. Colt receiver, 1943 vintage, parkerized, Colt slide, 1924 vintage, blued, 1911 hammer, all other parts appeared to be 1911-A1, some blued, some parkerized. No arsenal stampings. This gun must have been assembled for one of my grandfathers. He retired as a Lt.Col. in the Army. He also had a Colt 1917 revolver, unfortunately it had been parkerized for reissue during WW II. Issue holsters for both weapons. The 1917 remains untouched except for cleaning, the mixmaster 1911 was rebuilt into a shooter after talking to a few military arms collectors. Their opinion was that this 1911 was just an assembly of spare parts and would have no collectors value.
