Yeah sure, two private citizens, it's nothing but cash and carry, no problem from the government.

Like Bergeron said - private citizen to private citizen is 100% OK and fully legal. I do it all the time - last one was less than a week ago! REALLY great deal, too... :D

No paperwork, unless either of you want a receipt. It's so nice living in a free state!
uhh, segpiledriver, I don't know how to check my PMs :o
Let me know how and I will gladly respond!
Please disregard last, I figured out PMs, PM sent.

Depends. I think it's legal only if the seller's tooth-to-tattoo ratio is at least three or more. I'm pretty sure the number of days you have to wait to pick up the gun is equal to the number of dogs under the front porch divided by five.

Another question.
I read that it's legal to purchase a gun when you're under the age of 21 (obviously over 18) when purchasing from a private seller and if it's been approved by your local police department. Is this correct?

Almost.
If you are 18-20 you can purchase a long gun (rifle or shotgun, but no handguns) from a dealer so long as you pass the Instant Check and fill out form 4473. This only applies to commerical sales.
If you are 18+, then you can buy any non-Class 3 (supressed, short barelled, AOW, full-auto) long gun or handgun from a private seller. Period. There is no interaction with any police forces or any agent or agencies of the government, state or local.
It's real simple, if you want to buy a gun from another private individual, and you are 18+, all you have do is give them the money for it. It is then yours. You don't have to get permission from anyone, at any time to do this.

This is OT, but what kind of jobs are there in LA? My wife wants soooooo badly to move there, and I know it would be near-paradise. But how to make a living?

What do you want to do?
You would probably have the best luck searching the major towns such as New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Shreveport, maybe Lafayette.

Any websites or anything...

read it close. he is saying you can buy any NON class 3 firearm and then goes on to list the class 3 firearms. so i read it as it is ok to buy any firearm other than what he listed. try www.packing.org i know it is a ccw site but you can search for Louisiana laws. btw, i have buddy over in prairieville. is that area still exploding/expanding with new home growth since a lot of people are moving there from B.R. ?

Definitely. I'm only 20 and I've seen this area grow so so much since I can remember. It's definitely getting alot bigger.
Thanks for the info on the private purchase. Maybe this means I don't have to wait until June to purchase

As a matter of fact, you can go the packing.org website and link from there to the actual Louisiana code of laws dealing with firearms, and find out for yourself, without worry.
I apologize if my post was not the clearest, I wished to be precise.
