On tuesday this week I picked up my new Shotgun. A Knight TK-2000 for turkey and whatever else I can do with a ML shotty. My lovely wife, after handling the Knight, declared that she needed a 20 gauge, because there was no way she was going to be able to handle the Knight's 12 gauge heft... and kick. So off we went to the local gunshop, where she fell in love with a Charles Daly 20 gauge VR-MC pump gun. She's a small framed girl, so me and the counter guy (Who I have known literally my whole life) tried talking her into trying a couple of youth guns, but she was not to be swayed by "experts". Now she's bugging me to go shooting all the time! I found a good one.

I think my wife is pretty cool too.

Often when I'm feeling a bit stressed (she picks up on that before I do) she'll suggest that I go the range.

And more than once she has said "Isn't it about time you took me to the range again?"

I still remember a conversation we had shortly after we met. I was attempting to describe the Assault Weapons Ban to her (along with the 10 round magazine limit) and I still have this image in my mind. The more I'm talking to her the higher her eyebrows are getting and at the end she says: "well that doesn't make any sense! that's really stupid! what were they thinking?"

(Yes honey, it was really stupid, I don't have a clue what they were thinking.)

As for myself, I'm still looking for a pro-gun woman but here in Maryland that's like trying to find a pure woman in a house of ill repute. :(

Maybe I should do what bean357 mentioned and ask them out to the range on a first date, that way if they say no or run in terror I can scratch them off the list before wasting any time, money, or tears.
