There arent any hunting type barrels available for the Mossberg 590 shotgun, but the 835 looks conspicuosly similar. If anyone has both shotguns could you compair the 2 and see if they would fit?

I have a 590 and a buddy had an 835 breifly, I recall when we were both cleaning them once thinking that the barrels wouldn't interchange. I forget exactly why. I think the hook-up is different plus the mag tube is too long on the 590 for the 835s ring.

835 barrel won't fit or work on a 590.

I have an 835 and a 590A1 with the 18.5" barrel. The 20" 590A1 needs the long mag tube for its barrel, but the hunting barrels from the the two 835 shotguns in our home fit fine on my 18.5" 590A1 and vice versa. I emailed Mossberg to ask about it though and while they didn't say it wouldn't work, they didn't recommend it. I think that might have to do with the 3.5" chambering of the 835.

No luck. I did cut down an 835 barrel to 18" though. It's sweet! :rolleyes:
