As some, if not all of you, know by now, 'ol denfoote has joined the cult of the 1911!!!! (GASP!! :what: )
Well, I have been slowly function and accuracy testing the pistol over these past two weeks.Well, the results are in. Today, I was freehand shooting at the end of a #10 coffee can at about 15 yards. I didn't have a tape measure with me, but my hand fit comfortably over the group. When I returned home, I measured the width of my hand. It is 3' wide. So, the group size was about 2 1/2 in!!!!! :D I also tested 230gr Federal Hydroshok and Remington Golden saber with perfect results. When I first dissembled the pistol, I found out that someone had done throat and feed ramp polishing!! All I need to do is put some bigger sights on and have some polishing done in the trigger work to alleviate the grittiness. Yup!! This one's a keeper!!! :) :D

WOW :what: Your hands are 3 feet wide? You know what they say about guys w/ big hands & big feet don't ya? Yup, big gloves & big shoes! :D

I'm sure you meant inches (3") when you specified the group size. I just had to have a little fun :D

Congrats on the 1911!

Congratulations, it only shows that low price doesn't always mean poor quality. IIRC, you paid <$300, right?
I have a CD that gave me the same kind of surprise.:)
Safe shooting!

Hey, thats great. I ahve had an IAI commander clone for about 4years now, and have around 10,000 rounds thruogh it without any malfunctions. And it still shoots into about 4" at 25yards from a rest, 6' freehand. Denfoote that pistol well give you years of service.:D
