I sold my EAA Drozd BB gun on gunbroker. When I recieved the payment, I found that the buyer was in Toronto Canada. He gave me instructions on how to mark it so he wouldn't need to pay taxes on it. When I got to the post office, they said no way no how would they send it. I'm vaguely famillar with Canadian gun law, and I didn't think a sub 500 FPS bb gun was verboten. Any insight?

Your problem may be marking it for purposes of evading taxes.

Exactly; as long as it doesn't fire a projectile faster than 500 fps (152.4 mps), it's considered a "non-firearm" under Canadian law (not 100%, but just as a quick and dirty proposition); however, since you need to fill out a Customs declaration stating what it is and what it's worth, the odds are fairly high that it will be held up at the border and possibly refused until they find out exactly what it is. The USPS isn't about to assist in someone up here evading taxes on this item, and the fact that it's a "gun" (GASP!) doesn't help at all.
