Found the story link at the bottom of the page...
If they also get rid of Churchill {Famous WWII British Guy of same last name is probably spinning right now}, those 2 will just get replaced by 2 more members of The Looney Left....
But ya gotta love the idea that MAYBE Churchill will go the way of Prof. Mikey Belles-Lies...(Arming America, anyone?)

I don't think it'll have that much effect. I spent (wasted?) thirty-plus years
working in academentia as a sysadmin. In all that time things always
went toward "worse" never toward "better."
It is almost as if academentia had been invented as a proof of entropy.

She should have fired Churchill before she quit, or if it is too risky fo fire him, assign him to a never used room in the basement and don't give him a telephone.
Actually, if the conservative talk radio and tv shows will continue making a fuss about these lefty professors, the Boards of Regents just may take notice and change their hiring practices.
Actually, to really effect change, the conservitive students will probobly have to start suing the schools and professors to get a grade for doing good work and not for following the lefty line.

Her resignation is about football and sex. It is either an irrelevancy for Churchill or might even take the heat off him as the school as to deal with a bigger crisis.
They might give him an early retirement deal, I read somewhere.

Now if only our congress critter Marx (mark) Udall would resign. Perhaps he should be called Marx Churchill Udall. When I see a "Free Tibet" bumper sticker on the same Volvo bumper as "Vote Udall" I have to control my laughter to avoid crashing into a bridge embankment.

My understanding is that she couldn't have fired Churchill even if she wanted to, and that only the Regents (by a vote) can get rid of tenured professors. Tenure, after all, is supposed to make it very difficult to get rid of professors.
I was up near campus eating lunch today, and an NBC camera crew came into the restraunt looking for students to interview. Oddly, they were asking students how they felt about Hoffman being fired rather than her resignation.

When you 'resign' in midstream, you are FIRED. Normal resignations are announced before, search committees set up for the new pres. Ads are placed and search firms hired.
You resign for the good of the school or to spend time with your family. You are FIRED!!
Also, doing this probably evokes some golden parachute deal.
