Man I wish I could see a few bucks like that when I go out hunting! Maybe I gotta start taking hunting trips to Texas.

Good grief. I haven't seen that many deer in one place since I drove from Llano to San Marcos around midnight several years ago. They were standing around like cattle, watching the cars go by. Very nice place, Smoke.
Sorta OT, but I'm curious. Are you in the proposed path of the Trans-Texas Corridor? Looks like most of Bosque county is, one way or another. Both of my family's places are down here outside of Bastrop.

Looks like the property is infested with those dreaded large ornamental vegatation eating horned rats.
Do you need an exterminator to come on down and take care of a few of them???
Seriously though, those are some fine looking bucks and awsome photographs.
Were you flying in a helicopter for the the thrid one or just in a stand?
How many deer are on the property total? Is this just one of many herds? Or are these all the same?
What size property is it? How long do you have to search these guys out? I noticed the fence . . . are they pretty well penned in? Or do they have the freedom to just run where ever?

One could only imagine how much it would cost for a hunting lease on that land.

As luck would have it I went to a meeting on that a week ago. None of my property is directly in the proposed right of ways.

Bucks and does about 300. All in one herd. Although they do tend to group into 3 different bunches. Property is high fenced all the way around. No cross fences at all save one small 10 acre food plot that is high fenced also.
Were you flying in a helicopter for the the thrid one or just in a stand?
Neither one. I had crested a hill on foot and these deer were just on the other side of a small valley.
Thanks for all the comments. I'm really geeked about this deal. Already booking hunts for next fall. Also had a several offers to sell the place. I've never owned a piece of Bosque County real estate that would cash flow itself including the purchase price. Never had one in such high demand either. Feels kinda nice.

Smoke, I think you need a chaplain to help you look after the spiritual side of that place. My rates are very reasonable (meaning I can be paid in venison, and I'll even help harvest it! :D )...

Preacherman - you may have been reading my mind. (or hearing my prayers )
I've been praying night and day that the deer don't die. :D
