I saw a 15 with wood furniture go at an estate sale. I couldn't figure out what it was at first. I thought it was a screwed up FAL. But sure enough, it was a 15... Looked a little odd, didn't sell for much either, I shoulda snapped it up. $300... But eh, different is different :)

Not wood but synthetic. But looks wood. Limited run by Bell and Carlson.

That looks nice with the "simulated" wood furniture!

Closest thing I ever saw to wood was an AR with a Laminate-thumbhole stock. It was set up as a varminter rig so it didn't look too bad.

This isn't mine; but one I borrowed from AR15.com for a website on "assault weapons", so I don't know where you can find this furniture; but it does exist!

Personally I think it is like lipstick on a pig. Black furniture is sexy, and coyote brown and OD furniture is tacticool. That's how I like my ARs, I just don't think they have the right character as a metal and wood gun.

Sure it's sexy if you're the kind that likes plastic over the real thing! :neener:

I've wanted wood for my AR for quite some time - seen it lots of places. But it's just pricy enough I haven't taken the leap yet...

I have a sick idea of getting a Stag Arms lower, putting wooden furniture on it and using it to hunt with. The ultimate in EBR -> "Hunting Rifle" experience

That is... interesting. :scrutiny:

Neither good nor bad, mind you, but... hm.

Wow. :scrutiny:

I saw a photo of an AR15 Varmint Rifle with a laminated wood thumbhole stock from J&P, it looked really nice!

I really really love wood furniture.
Something about it looks odd on the AR-15 though... =/
That Walnut is very nice though.

The heavy wooden stock was a deleted feature of the ArmaLITE

I don't know about those wood stocks, but I really like the look of a laminate shumbhole stock I saw once. It looks pretty spiffy.

Maybe somebody could convince Mr. Hakan Pek (sp?) to do some AR furniture. Bet it'd cost a pretty penny, but you'd have the hottest AR furniture on the continent.
