Y'all,
I've always wanted to own a 16th-17th Cent. reproduction matchlock musket but have no idea who makes & sells them.
Any leads? Thanks.

Dixie Gun Works used to sell matchlocks, I dont remember if it was of the old English design or Japanese. I think they used to sell a wheel Lock also.

Dale Shinn of Sacramento, CA hand makes his matchlocks. Nice guy and he does great work too. Let me see if I can find his address.

The only working replica I've ever seen was made by David Southall down in Punta Gorda, Florida. I don't know if he's making them any more but he might be able to give you some info on where to get them. You can e-mail him at d.southall@att.net. Good luck.

Dixie Gunworks sells two matchlocks -- an English-style gun, and a Japanese Tanegashima.
