A friend of mine at work asked me to help him date a S&W model 66-2. On the heel of the grip frame it says AYN9xxx. Any help would be appreciated.

BTW, Is there a site on the web where I can go to punch numbers like these in myself and not have to bother you guys? :D

Well, you need to ask him first and I would recomend getting a few beers in him before hand. You should expect to have to help him move and do yard work for the rest of your life though.

Oh, you mean THAT kind of dating. I have no idea. I would like to know if there is an online resource for S&W dating as well. I havent been able to find one.

Greeting's All-

The Smith & Wesson model 66-2 in question was manufactuered
between January-July of 1988; most likely 'round February
or early March. To get any closer would require the services of
S&W historian, Mr. Roy Jinks.

C_yeager, this being the Highroad and all I didn't figure I needed to be extra carefull about how I worded my request. I will be more carefull in the future :D

Thanks Dan that's what I was looking for.

So is there not a place to plug in the #s??

It would probably be safer to date his revolver than his little sister!

Visiting "the High Road" and taking the high road are not always the same thing.

Depends on the gun.
