I just received my Benchmade Gamer----was represented on the site and the invoice as having 690 steel------when I got my package the knife blade says 440C---------I would have never bought this in the first place with that kind of steel.
A call to Midway to complain----I was refunded the cost back to my card and told to keep the knife.
Not the knife I wanted------but can't complain for free :D .

What's wrong with 440C?
I actually prefer it over the N690.

What is Midway's phone number again!? ;)
440C actually is a good steel for many applications. I use the BM-42 which is 440C constantly and it holds the edge well and sharpens with no problem on my Sharpmaker.
